Lia and Mom

Soooo... these pictures have a story. Chris was taking some pictures of Lia and I, and as you can see, we were horsing around. Right AFTER these pictures were taken (incredible, considering I am holding her upside down...) Lia arched her back while in my arms and I dropped her. It was awful. I felt like the most horrible mother ever to walk the planet. But lil' Lia cried for a few minutes, then dusted herself off and was okay. But it was a horrible experience... poor Lia. :(

Ah, the fun before the nastiness...

I have been a bad blogger, I will be the first to admit it! But I'm going to TRY to turn over a new leaf (and in my defense, I was in the first trimester of making another small human being...) Anyhow, these are some pictures of Lia this afternoon...

Look at my beautiful happy girl!

I heard her squeaking excitedly and looked over and she was batting wildly at the sliding door shades.
She's so so pretty... :)

Long time coming post!!

You would think that with such a long absence in posts I would have a ton of stuff to say with a lot of pictures, but I've either been too lazy or too tired (is there a difference?) to be shooting a whole lot. :) But these are pictures from the 4th and then a couple from other days. :)

Other items of interest:

* Lia can crawl like a fiend, she gallops around the house

* Lia eats puffs (like cereal) very well, daintily picking them up between her pointer and thumb fingers.

* Lia likes to exercise her vocal cords and will spontaneously break into a scream, yell or squawk.

* We love our little Lia bug

Lia violently waved her flag the entire parade.

Chris took this picture one day, I think I'm asleep...

This was Lia this morning getting ready to go to swim class. It was cold outside so we dressed her up like a leopard. :)

I really like this shot. I shot it using an 85mm 1.4 lens which is pretty hard to focus accurately, but when you do, the pictures are just awesome. I love how soft and buttery the bokah is. And it doesn't hurt that Lia looks adorable. :)

Update on Chicklet

So our fantastic medical assistant at the Dr's office got us in for an ultrasound this afternoon (we literally got the call and went- we had about ten minutes to get to the office!) and we got to see Chicklet for the first time!! :)

She (I'm just referring to it as she because its easier. ;) ) is almost 9 weeks exactly, and her new debut date is set to be February 12th. I'm hoping we can push that to February 15th (so that Chris and I can go out for Valentines Dinner... yeah, I'm selfish...)

She was so cute, she had little teensy tiny feet, and she kicked and wriggled a little bit. Her heartbeat was great, and she just looked so adorable and sweet. Like a lovable little gummy bear. :)

Happy 4th of July!!

I'm so disappointed, due to all of the wildfires, the fireworks in Scotts Valley are cancelled (which is totally understandable) but at the same time I can't help but be a little sad. I know that Lia would have loved to watch the fireworks...

Anyways, here she is all decked out in her 4th finery! I'll post more pictures later of other festivities.

Isn't it scary how big and grown up she's getting?

I just love the completely random expression on her face here. She's so funny.

She's so pretty!

I did this one in a vintage sort of action, so that's why it looks a little washed out. It was intentional. :)

I wasn't being too cruel. She decided she was done with the shoot and in typical dramatic Lia style, she flung herself on the carpet and proceeded to howl, burying her face in her chubby little arms. I took two pictures of her anguish, and promptly picked her up. But while this picture is 'sad', its also pretty funny... :)

Some news!

A few weeks ago, Kate came over and we had BBQ ribs. The next morning when I went into the kitchen to clean up, I nearly lost everything that had been in my stomach previously.

See where this is going?

Yup...

Two under two...

We are so excited and thrilled, and tenatively, right now, the kids will be 14 months apart. :)

The Spectrum

Em lives a few exits from this awesome outdoor shopping mall called the Spectrum. After hibernating in her house for a few days due to the ridiculous temperatures, we finally bucked up and left the coolness to go walk around. It was after six, and the weather had calmed down a little so it was much more pleasant.

Em took so many pictures of Clare and Lia at the Spectrum and I've just got to go through and post them, but here are some.

There is this little area where water spouts from the ground, its really cute and fun and it was jam packed with kids. This is Clare watching Lia and I.

Watching the fountains. Look at the cute Buddah baby in the background. :)

We got Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt, which is to die for. SO good!
And I gave Lia a little of the strawberry which she seemed to like. :)

Yum!

This didn't turn out quite as I wanted it too, but this was one of the many fountains at the Spectrum. I love all of the fountains- it seems like there are always tons of fountains in Southern California... something we don't have in Northern Cal. :(
But yeah, I like this picture now, its different. :)

Another of the fountains.

This is a shot from Emily's favorite store 'Anthropologie'
Not sure if I spelled that right...
But its a really neat store, very hodge podge but lots of fun to look around

Most of the Spectrum is draped in this fabric with the lights inbetween. Its gorgeous when its dark outside. :) Really romantic and fun, or as Em described it "like an outdoor carnival"- they also have a ferris wheel and merry-go-round. Anyhow, I told Em, it would be a great date spot. :)

Hodge Podge!

Total hodge-podge of pictures that I've been MEANING to post but have been too busy too. :)

Let's start this post off on a wonderful note.
Okay. I'm totally not biased.
But seriously...

*SWOON*DROOL*SWOON*

Do I not have THE most incredibly gorgeous husband?
(I mean SERIOUSLY! Look at those eyes! :) )

Lia with Grandma Lock at the shop.

Lia's feet and hands on the carpet. :)
I guess these explanations are sort of unnecessary. :)

I think this picture is so funny and cute. Not quite sure what she's thinking, but its pretty funny.

Aunt Katzies

I like this picture because you can see Kate just barely in the background. It was a fun day, we were lying on the front driveway and eating ice cream with Lia. :)

And THIS... in a nutshell, is why Lia loves her Aunt so much.
:)
Best picture EVER! :)

Goo' Mornin'!!!

Lia always wakes up pretty happy. This morning she woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed!
